Media Company & IP Studio  ·  Outdoor  ·  Adventure

The future belongs to brands that own attention — not rent it.

A media company and IP studio for the outdoor and adventure world. We help brands, founders, and athletes stop renting attention and start owning it — by building recurring programming, not running campaigns. Agencies bill hours against your calendar; we build shows designed to become assets.

The Journey Starts Here.
Our Ethos

Most outdoor companies think in marketing. We think in programming.

The outdoors has always been about story — the trip, the summit, the first light on the trail. The brands and personalities who win the next decade won’t be the loudest advertisers; they’ll be the ones whose audiences choose to follow them.

So we approach every client the way a network approaches a channel — not a feed of posts, but an ecosystem of shows, formats, and personalities built to bring an audience back.

The goal isn’t to be seen.
It’s to become something people follow.

A Note From the Trailhead

I’ve spent 20+ years across television, advertising, branded content, and podcasting — for networks, studios, brands, and some of the biggest names in entertainment. And I’ve spent most weekends of those years getting out: mountains, deserts, coastlines, a stubborn old ’87 Vanagon that starts most of the time.

For a long time, those two parts of my life stayed separate. Trailhead is where they finally meet.

I know how to find the story beneath the surface — the human reason something matters. And the outdoor world is full of those stories: people chasing freedom, solitude, challenge, recovery, connection, and a deeper relationship with the places that shape them.

Too often, those stories get reduced to campaigns that disappear in a quarter. But the brands that last are the ones people feel something for. They stand for more than product. They reflect a way of moving through the world.

I want to help outdoor brands tell stories that earn trust, create belonging, and give people a reason to care — not just buy.

Trailhead exists to help the people and brands who live these stories build something they keep.

What We Build

A catalog of programming, not one-off campaigns.

We don’t start from a blank page. Every client is built from one of five pillars — each a proven starting point — which we shape into a custom format with its own structure, production workflow, and distribution playbook.

The Pillars

Not off-the-shelf shows — the five categories we sort every client into, then craft a client-specific format from.

01
The Outfitter
The pillar for gear and retail brands: product- and place-rooted storytelling — field tests, the making, the people — shaped into the recurring show that makes you the trusted voice in your category.
Brand · Gear / Retail
02
Base Camp
The pillar for travel, hospitality, and overlanding brands: destination and experience storytelling with travel-show energy, built to create brand pull and drive real bookings.
Brand · Travel / Hospitality
03
Trailblazers
The pillar for founders: an authority-driven approach that turns hard-won expertise into a recognized voice and an audience that follows the person, not just the product.
Founder
04
Field Notes
The pillar for athletes and creators with an audience already: we structure it into recurring, ownable programming — training, expeditions, gear, life — built for sponsorship from day one.
Athlete / Creator
05
The Crossing
Our flagship pillar for athlete-and-brand co-productions: expedition and challenge storytelling built around a named journey — the work most likely to travel into licensing, FAST channels, and streaming.
Athlete · Brand · Co-Production

Five pillars. One diagnosis per client — we’ll tell you which fits, then build the format around it.

How It Works

From first conversation to owned asset.

Own the audience. Build the IP. Let the best ideas travel.

01

Format Roadmap

A focused strategy sprint where we identify the right format, audience, publishing model, production scope, and business opportunity.

DeliverablesFormat recommendation · audience thesis · sample episode structure · content pillars · production model · budget range · launch roadmap
02

Development

We build the creative foundation: show bible, title, visual identity, pilot plan, team structure, production calendar, and launch package.

03

Launch & Operate

We produce and manage the recurring series across owned channels, with a repeatable production and distribution workflow.

04

Grow the Platform

For the right projects, we expand into sponsorship, partnerships, licensing, talent, and co-owned IP.

Why It Compounds

The work doesn’t end at launch — it appreciates.

An Owned Audience

A direct relationship with the people you serve — yours to keep, not rented back every quarter.

A Library, Not a Campaign

Every format adds to a catalog of programming and assets that keeps working long after it’s published.

Upside That Travels

When a format breaks out, it can grow into sponsorship, licensing, and distribution far beyond the brand.

Who We Work With

Built for people and teams with something worth saying.

Brands

Funded gear and apparel companies, adventure-travel operators, outdoor hospitality, and overlanding brands ready to build awareness, trust, and long-term relevance.
